Sushi means vinegared rice. Any dish with vinegared rice is sushi.Sliced fish on a ball of vinegared rice is NIGIRI. A "California Roll" is a specific set of ingredients (crab or "crab stick", avacado, cucumber) in either MAKI (ingredients rolled in rice and wrapped in NORI [seaweed sheet]) or a HAND ROLL (rice and other ingredients loosely wrapped in NORI. SASHIMI is raw fish alone. Please do not let your lack of knowledge create a poor review. You will enjoy your food if you understand what you are ordering.
