We have always enjoyed going to Philander's when in Oak Park.We'd stay at the Hotel and spend the evening dining, sipping drinks(always perfect for our taste) & usually enjoying music...On numerous occasions we saw John Mahoney (sp?)(Frazier) at the bar.The Philander's salad has been a favorite of ours since our first visit..I make it at home (About 20 years ago I asked for the recipe & it was given to me...for which my family is very grateful) sadly we no longer have a reason to visit Oak Park,Il.anymore...but we keep thinking one day we shall return.
