Review by Roberto for Maya del Sol

I am a Belizian (Central America) of American birth and I must say the food is not what I had expected. The wait staff, bartenders were excellent. The food was good for what American non-travelers think Latin food taste like, but believe me, if you are of Latin birth or have lived in Latin America you will not be impressed. The ceviche was at best a shrimp/seafood cocktail. The fish was good, but on par with redbone or any other seafood chain. I think the problem here is when you can't bring in a group that really enjoy Latin cooking, you revert to fusion cooking to please people that want to be hip/with it. But have no idea what is real Latin cooking.. Once i looked at the crowd waiting to be seated, I understood. If you are looking for a nice clean and enjoyable place. This is it. If you are looking for real Latin food. Go someplace else.
